was allowed to use the logo of the EUROPEAN YEAR OF VOLUNTEERING 2011.
FOR THE COMMON BENEFIT!
We are in the middle of establishing the Łódź Common Benefit Activity
Council. In the municipal office all candidates to this body, chosen
by the NGOs were presented in public. Each of over 30 candidates had
3 minutes to present his or her achievements and vision of the future
work in the Council. Then, the participants could ask them questions.
For the next two weeks, the non-governmental organizations in Łódź
will vote for the candidates. This will establish the final composition
of the Council.
An appeal to EU states
to abolish visa fees for the citizens of Belarus and to impose sanctions
on its authorities.
International alliance of non-governmental organizations acting for
borders without visas in Europe asks the governments of the European
Union States to abolish visa fees for the citizens of Belarus and
to impose sanctions on its authorities responsible for repressions
after the presidential elections of 19th December 2010.
The newspaper “Dziennik
Łódzki” wrote an article about our friend Grzegorz Nowak. "He
helps the poor and travels around the world".

“Inicjatywa RP” Association
and Bank Żywności are going to conduct a Christmas fund raising action
in REAL - MANUFAKTURA and ALMA MANUFAKTURA - OGRODOWA 19A.
We invite you to take part in the action, to buy 1-2 products more
than planned and to put them into the marked trolleys. These food
products will be distributed to families with many children, the disabled
and other people in need.
We hope that, as every year, we will be able to assure that such families
will have the basic dishes on the table at Christmas.
We rely on your warms hearts and generosity.

The Board of the Inicjatywa RP Association invites everybody to an
open air event from the cycle "Jesteśmy Razem".
The title of the event
is: "Goodbye Holidays, Welcome School" and it will promote
the 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty, Human Rights Development
and celebrate the 45th anniversary of artistic activity of Janusz
Gust
Adam Mickiewicz Park in Łódź
which is going to take place
on 28.08.2010 from 11.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. and on 29.08.2010 from
11.00 - 19.00 p.m.

The programme includes competitions, sports events, singing, horse-riding
and a barbecue.
During the event (Saturday
from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. and Saturday from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.),
there will be a bicycle marking point (to mark a bicycle you have
to bring a purchase bill or guarantee and an ID). Children can participate
in competitions, talk to the municipal police officer about safety
with contacts with animals or see the drug-sniffing dog.

and participate with the whole family !!!
“Inicjatywa RP” Association
was an co-organizer of two meetings:
- the meeting for volunteers
and young people affiliated with the organization, on 05.05.2010 at
the registered office of the Association at Piotrkowska 41.
- the meeting for high
school students, on 19.05.2010 in boarding house no. 12.
The meetings were conducted
by Bank Żywności in Łódź as part of the project "STOP wasting
food" for the benefit of the society and environment financed
from the Non-governmental Organizations Fund.
During the meeting the following topics were discussed:
- the problem of wasting food and its influence on the degradation
of the environment and the sustainable development;
- indicating ways of reducing the scale of wasting food on the level
of an individual;
- promoting environmental protection behaviours and increasing the
awareness and knowledge in the field of eco-development.
The meeting was conducted by using active methods of teaching. The
participants will be able to use them in everyday life.

In
deep grief we commiserate with the families and friends of
the victims of the catastrophe. In the face of such an unimaginable
tragedy which happened to all Poles and to our state we are
together and let’s stay together!!!.

On 5th May 2010, at
the registered office of the “Inicjatywa RP” Association,
a conference and workshops took place. The title of the conference
was. “2010 European Year for Combating Poverty - Don’t Waste Food
- Human Rights”
“Inicjatywa RP” Association
was the patron the a meeting with Mirosław Firkowski - prisoner in
a death camp, which took place in the Władysław Reymont High School
Complex (boarding house no. 20).
The

The whole activity - photographs taken by the homeless and the exposition
as a part of GREAT campaign, which aims at shaping the view on developmental
problems in Poland from the perspective of human rights.
On 13th December 2009,
at the Young Viewer’s Scene located at WSPÓLNA 6, a Christmas meeting
from the cycle “JESTEŚMY RAZEM" took place. The event was organized
by the “Inicjatywa RP” Association, Board of the Wł. Jagiełło housing
estate and the "ZWIERCIADŁO" theatre.
On 23rd October 2009,
Urszula Kamińska and Zofia Baranowska - the Administrators of the
Daily Care Homes no. 2 and 4 in Łódź gave Danuta Majdańska - The Chairperson
of “Inicjatywa RP” Association - a written acknowledgement for our
support to them by preparing food bags for the elderly people. The
food was given to the elderly people individually during the Senior
Citizen’s Day. The food bags were prepared by the following volunteers
of our Association: Janina Kryusze, Maciej Kozłowski, Tadeusz Kwaskowski,
Mirosław Niewadzim, who received also personal thanks and diplomas
acknowledging their participation. An additional present - linen bags
- has been granted by Tomasz Pawłowski, the Chairman of Forweb company
in Łódź.
On 30.08.2009, from 10.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., in Adam Mickiewicz
Park in Julianów District in Łódź, “Inicjatywa RP” Association organized
an event from the cycle "JESTEŚMY RAZEM" for the 5th anniversary
of the Association’s existence.
MULTIMEDIA
In August, a few volunteers of our Association executed the program
“Daj mi szansę” (Give me a chance). The project was financed from
the money granted by the Grant Committee of Telewizja Polska S.A.
It was aimed at accepting oneself and finding an active attitude which
enables a positive participation in the lives of children and adolescents.
The participants took part in:
- sport and leisure activities
- activities with dogs
- activities with horses
which were organized in the RANCHO NATURA PLUS centre in Katowice,
and in
- art classes in the registered office of “Inicjatywa RP” Association.
For almost all participants of the project, the activities above were
the only organized form of leisure during summer holidays.
We’d like to inform that
on 4th February 2009 “Inicjatywa RP” Association was admitted as a
member of the Łódź Province Non-governmental Organizations Council,
which gathers organizations of various profiles, e.g. focusing on
the disabled and homeless, unemployment prevention, promotion of ecology
or local development.
The main role of the Council is to represent the interest of non-governmental
organizations in contacts with public authorities and other social
partners.
We are sure that mutual cooperation will lead to the solution of many
problems in the non-governmental organizations sector.
We invite you on the
behalf of FUNDACJA ŚWIATŁO from Toruń and AQUA LIFE
foundation to the official opening of the FIGHT WITH CANCER ACADEMY,
which is going to take place on 2nd July 2009 at 2.p.m. in the building
at Rewolucji 1905 street 7.
We invite all people
who need legal help to the registered office of our Association, at
Piotrkowska 41.
We are searching for
partners for the Gundtvig programme.
The Board of the “Inicjatywa RP” Association
invites to the meeting being part of the information project
"Wolontariat 50+ na piątkę z plusem”,
which will take place on 22nd May 2009 (Friday) at 10.00 a.m. at the
registered
office of the Association organized by the Regional Volunteering Centre
in Łódź.
One of the purposes of
the meeting is to introduce the terminology and basic legal aspects
of volunteering
to the members of the Association
Each participants will be given some promotional materials.
On 23th March 2009, the
volunteers of our Association: J. D. Majdańska and P. S. Skorupa took
part in the 4th Polish Conference: "Public Private Partnerships
as a chance for creating an effective hospital and health care system.
Possibilities of implementing the European solutions in the Polish
conditions".
During the conference,
the following topics were discussed:
1. Development of Public Private Partnerships in health care.
2. New legal possibilities in public private investments.
3. European solutions for the application of PPP.
4. Legal conditions for public private investments in health care
sector.
5. The planned transformations of public hospitals into corporations.
6. A case study of PPP investment - J. Śniadecki Specialist Hospital
in Nowy Sącz.
A panel discussion on
the topic: Is Public Private Partnership a chance for the modernization
of Polish hospitals? completed the conference.
The conference was organized by Społeczna Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości
i Zarządzania in Łódź, which distributed interesting materials and
publications about Public Private Partnerships to the participants
of the conference. The participants received certificates of participation
in the conference.
On 24.02.2009 at 11:00
a.m., in the registered office of our Association at Piotrkowska 41,
the next meeting of the AMD Group.
Among the participants of the meeting, one should mention:
Ewa Ściborska - Spokesman of the Disabled in the Municipal Office
of Łódź.
and Lidia Fido - The Plenipotentiary of the President for the Disabled.
The participants were informed about an open letter to the Minister
of Health, Ewa Kopacz,
and about the visit of Małgorzata Pacholec the Director of the Retina
AMD Polska, which is planned to take place at the beginning of the
second half of March.
Also the directions of the AMD Group activities for 2009 were established.
The first issue of our
newspaper “Biuletyn Informacyjny” describing the activities of our
Association has been released!!!
In relation to the cooperation
agreement concluded between Europejski Klub Ukraina and “Inicjatywa
RP” Association, the Chairman of the Club and editor of the “Kurier
Stanisławowski” newspaper, Orest Bezzubiak visited to our Association
from 24.10 to 04.11.2008. The visit is aiming at establishing and
starting doing activities together and signing a partnership agreement.
On 26-27 September 2008
the volunteers of ‘Inicjatywa RP” Association
s took part in a food raising action: “Podziel się posiłkiem”. They
raised food in REAL supermarket in Manufaktura Łódzka from 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. “Podziel się Posiłkiem” is the most popular form of help
for undernourished children, which is aimed at raising as many food
products as possible. It is organized by Bank Żywności, together with
the partners Danone i Fundacja Polsat. Organizations such as “Inicjatywa
RP” Association cooperate with Bank Żywności in Łódź. Thanks to the
young volunteers:
-Konrad Baranowski, Krzysztof Baranowski, Karolina Cierniak, Adam
Dyba, Przemysław Janus, Piotr Klimkiewicz, Seweryn Obiała, Mateusz
Rubaj, Grzegorz Wasiak, Przemysław Zgierski, who directly participated
in the food raising action and their supervisors:
- Ewa Kowalska,
- Joanna Kryusza,
- Anna Leśniak,
we managed to gather 270 kg of food products.
The products will be distributed to those who need them most.
All the above activities were coordinated by Józefa Danuta Majdańska.
“Inicjatywa RP” Association
took part in the harvest festival in Goszczanów. After the official
greetings, there was a performance of the folk band from Dom Kultury
in Goszczanów. Then, the stage belonged to the artists from Łódź -
Jaga Paduch i Janusz Gust as well as the Trinity Jump from our Association,
which was welcomed very warmly by the public.
“Inicjatywa RP” Association
concluded a lease agreement for a building in Strachanów, (powiat
sieradzki), previously a school situated at the Jeziorsko Lake, where
a Physiotherapy, Relax and Training Centre for youths and the elder
from Łódź an surroundings is going to be placed.
We invite everybody to cooperate with us in the creation of the centre.
The third meeting about
the revitalization of Łódź - Śródmieście (City Centre) took place
on the 3rd June from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The meeting took place
in the Food Distribution Point at Jaracza 40 where we are going
to create a Support Centre for the Social Revitalisation of Łódź-
Śródmieście and an exemplary courtyard for children and adolescents.
